Why our habits are important

With summer here, warmer weather, and longer days, it’s the perfect time to try adding in some positive new habits to our lives. It’s also the perfect time to be proactive to not lose positive habits we’ve built into our lives and start sliding backwards in some areas of life that we’ve made progress in.

Why are our habits and routines even important? What purpose do they serve? Are they meant to just be a way we can try to control our life and possibly others’ lives as well too? Habits and routines are simply tools meant to anchor us to the here and now and keep helping us navigate towards what is for our highest good. When life is trying to carry us away in its fast pace of overwhelm and chaos, habits and routines help keep us grounded and in a comforting rhythm as we wade through life’s changes.

Habits are probably that part of each of our lives that is probably under-appreciated, but they are the key under-rowers that allow us to make strides forward in our bodies, minds, emotions, and spirit, which in turn impacts our outer world of relationships and our surroundings. So, even though summer is here, perhaps it’s actually a perfect time to begin keeping track of habits you know keep you grounded, or can help grow you, because we all know come autumn, life will be moving at an even crazier pace, so there’s no time like the present to prepare. Happy habit tracking!
